Dr Vicky Jewell is Partnerships & Policy Manager for Skills at the Satellite Applications Catapult. This role looks to organise, facilitate and support work to develop a diverse pipeline of skilled individuals to access into and progress within the sector workforce. This includes skills foresighting activities to assess the workforce currently active in the space sector, and help to identify and address skills gaps, and working on internship programmes (such as the SPIN Programme), which seek to support students transferring their academic studies into work experience to act as a springboard into the sector. Vicky comes to this role from previous careers in both academia and academic publishing, through both of which she followed a strong thread of leading the upskilling, teaching and training of individuals in a fair an equitable way to bring opportunities to a broad spectrum of backgrounds and communities. She is passionate about communicating complex and nuanced issues in an accessible and constructive way, to generate engagement and positive change.
