About Swansea University
Swansea University's Department of Computer Science is based in the Computational Foundry, a £32.5 million facility that opened in 2018 on the beach-fronted Bay Campus, ranked in the world's top 250 for the subject (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026). Facilities include a Vision and Biometric Lab, Maker Lab, Theory Lab, Cyber Security/Networking Lab, Robotics Lab and Visualisation Suite, supporting research and teaching across AI, cyber security, human-computer interaction, robotics and visual computing. Degrees are BCS-accredited and shaped by industry input from lecturers who work at the cutting edge, including BAFTA-nominated game developers and researchers collaborating with Airbus, Microsoft, HSBC and Siemens; most courses offer a year in industry or a year abroad, and students showcase final-year projects to employers at an annual Project Fair.
