What was the best experience of your Tech Industry Gold accredited degree apprenticeship?

Getting my final results! It was amazing to see how hard work achieved great results for all of us.

What was the most challenging experience of your Tech Industry Gold accredited degree apprenticeship?

The most challenging experience was starting a new job and a degree at the same time. I had just finished my A-levels and then started my job and degree in the same week. We all had to learn time-management skills in the first semester. However, with support from IBM and QMUL we were able to take the steps needed to manage this.

What would you say now, to yourself, before you enrolled on your Tech Industry Gold accredited degree apprenticeship?

Just do it! Although it looked like a long journey with a lot of commitment, and there were many unknowns, the end result was worth it. It was a really enjoyable experience overall!

What would you say to anyone considering a Tech Industry Gold accredited degree apprenticeship?

Go for it! Tech Industry Gold accredited degree apprenticeships give you both an honours degree and 4 years of valuable work experience with a world-class company. Although it’s pretty challenging at times, you’re getting the best of both worlds and learning a huge amount.

What are you planning to do this summer?

I’m working over the summer at IBM but I will be taking some time off towards September.

What are your career plans?

I’ve moved into a more involved role in my current team so I will be working there for the foreseeable future. Longer term I’ve got plans to continue further on the architect pathway.
