Getting young people excited about tech careers with digital work experience

Calling for employers’ participation: join EDT’s first ever collaborative virtual Cyber, AI and Digital Work Experience Programme, to help get young people excited about tech careers. This will take a few hours of your time but will make such a difference to young people trying to understand whether a tech career is for them.

We, Tech Partnership Degrees and EDT (Engineering Development Trust), have formed a mutual partnership, with EDT acting as our education charity partner, filling the need for a focus on getting young people excited about a Tech career prior to UCAS choices. We will work together in a number of ways, and throughout the coming months will let you know of mutual engagement to ensure we have a diverse, socially mobile talent pool for our future economy.

A critical area at this time is the need for Virtual Work Experience, building skills with industry towards a University degree or Apprenticeship. After two academic years of cancelled work experiences, we know young people are in desperate need of engaging in structured programmes to connect them with industry, role models and mentors.

We’re looking for employers to be part of the social action to answer this need – Join EDT’s first ever collaborative virtual Cyber, AI and Digital Work Experience Programme planned for Summer 2021. Although still virtual, our aim is to enable students to meet with a number of companies, not just one, across the Tech sector to work collaboratively to give students an experience they will never forget. Students will have the opportunity to hear from a range of different professionals and specific journeys from education to employment with Q&A sessions throughout.

If you would like to find out how to get involved, please join us at one of our drop-in sessions to meet the team at EDT & find out more, ask any questions you may have and meet other like-minded companies.
