About Aston University
Aston University's School of Computer Science and Digital Technologies is a hub for software engineering, cybersecurity, applied AI and robotics research, ranked 12th in the UK for Computer Science (Guardian University Guide 2025) and awarded Triple Gold in the 2023 Teaching Excellence Framework. Its Digital and Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship was the first Degree Apprenticeship offered in the UK and remains Aston's most established programme, developed as part of the Institute of Coding and offering five specialist pathways: Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Cyber Security, Networking Engineer and Software Engineering. Undergraduate Computer Science degrees are BCS-accredited and lead to Chartered IT Professional status, with graduates going on to employers including Microsoft, IBM, Barclays, BAE Systems, Amazon and Vodafone.
