The University of West London’s School of Computing and Engineering delivers programmes accredited with Full Incorporated Engineer status by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). The curriculum is designed in collaboration with industry partners to ensure it remains closely aligned with current and emerging employer needs, with a strong emphasis on applied, work-relevant learning.

Tech Industry Gold accreditation further underpins the quality and relevance of the programmes, ensuring that they meet nationally recognised standards for digital and technology skills development and graduate readiness for the tech sector.

Ethical AI, data responsibility, and professional practice are embedded throughout the curriculum, preparing students for a workplace where intelligent systems and responsible innovation are increasingly central.

Students can also take part in the Alan Turing and Ada Lovelace (ATAL) computing society, a student-led community established in 2015/16 that runs weekly sessions focused on projects, collaboration, and competitions. The School also benefits from four industry consultative committees, which provide ongoing input from practitioners and professional bodies, helping to shape curriculum relevance and industry alignment.

The School of Computing and Engineering has also been recognised for student experience and teaching quality, including being ranked highly in the National Student Survey for its computing provision among modern universities.
