Its Apprenticeship Programme, launched in 2020, blends full-time paid employment with part-time study towards a BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions, delivered in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University and, for London-based apprentices, Northeastern University London. Apprentices split their time between real client work in FDM's IT and technology teams and academic study, supported by a personal mentor throughout. FDM has climbed the Social Mobility Index to 34th place and been added to the UK government's Flexi-Job Apprenticeship agencies register, reflecting its focus on opening tech careers to people from non-traditional and non-STEM backgrounds — 30% of its graduate consultants come from outside STEM subjects.
